A lip tattoo is a very natural-looking enhancement that improves the shape and color of your lips! This permanent makeup solution is ideal for individuals with pale or faded lips, discoloration, scarring, dark lips, and anyone looking to enhance the color, size, and overall appearance of their lips.
– Refrain from alcohol, coffee, aspirin, fish oil, niacin, vitamin E, and ibuprofen 24 hours prior to your lip tattoo appointment, unless medically necessary. – If you usually get cold sores, please take Valtrex 1,000 mg daily for 5 days before your appointment and for 2 days after your appointment. This is a total of 7 days to ensure it won’t affect your permanent makeup treatment. (You cannot get Valtrex over the counter; consult with your doctor for the prescription.)
– 30 minutes after your lip tattoo appointment, please clean your lips with a cotton pad and sterilized or bottled water. Then apply a very thin layer of the ointment given to you. Repeat this process 3 times a day for 5 days while awake. – Do not get your lips wet for the first 5 days following your permanent makeup procedure. – Avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks. – Refrain from exercising for the first 5 days. – Do not wear makeup on the lips area for the first 5 days.
Day 1: After your lip tattoo, you can expect your lips to be fairly swollen for the first day or so. Day 2: The swelling should have subsided, and the color of your lips will likely appear darker than it was initially. Day 3-4: Your lips may start to flake and peel, but please remember to never peel off any scabs. Day 7-10: These are the final healing days for your permanent makeup. The flakiness should begin to lessen after about a week. At this point, the lip color is expected to be 30-50% lighter than it was right after the procedure. It's common for the pigment to temporarily fade before returning a few weeks later, as the skin thickens during the healing process, which can briefly affect the ink. Day 40-60: It's time for your perfection visit! By this stage, your permanent makeup should be fully healed, and we recommend coming back to even out your lip shade.
